Men's Golf Notes NO MATTER THE WEATHER: Freshman Kevin Sasena garnered Athlete of the Week honors for leading WHEN THERE'S A WILL: Senior Will Turner opened THREE VIKINGS VIKINGS SCORE IN BUNCHES: All four Vikings who finished last week's El Diablo Intercollegiate posted scores within three strokes of each other. Grandy's 238 was followed closely by Scott at 240 and senior Steve Weir and Barber at 241. TITANS TAKE THIRD IN MURPHY'S LAW: Junior Kyler Murphy captured the season's first Athlete of the Week award after tying for medalist honors at the Fort Lauderdale Spring Classic. Murphy's consecutive rounds of 72 helped the Titans finish third in the 11-team event. Loyola LINQUIST OFF TO SOLID START: Loyola junior Frank Lindquist fired a 149 (75-74) at the Fort Lauderdale Spring Classic, then tied teammate Armando Favela for 10th-place honors at the Geico Direct Spring Invitational on March 12. In five rounds, Lindquist has shot no higher than 77. TWO FRESHMEN NOT FAR BEHIND: Freshmen Sean Bidzinski and Kevin Emmerich both fired two sub-80 rounds at the Geico Direct Spring Invitational. YOUTH MOVEMENT: Three freshmen and two sophomores look to figure heavily in GOING GOBIS: Sophomore Peter Gobis led the KNUTSON OFF TO A RAIDERS FINISH NINTH IN GEORGIA: The Raiders captured a ninth-place finish at the Geico Direct Spring Inviational in Savannah, Ga. Junior Brandon Knutson led the Raiders with a 230 for the tournament. Knutson fired a team-best 74 in the second round. PENGUIN TRIO DIPS BELOW 75: Freshman Ryan Stocke captured a share of 21st-place with a two-round score of 151 at the Fort Lauderdale Spring Classic on March 10. Senior Nate Komsa and junior Jim Powers also fired sub-75 rounds. Komsa's round 73 and Powers' 75 both came in the tournament's second round. OFF TO A Women's Golf Notes PAR FIVES NO SWEAT FOR SWANSON: Junior Sarah Swanson also tied for third in par-5 scoring at the North South Intercollegiate. Swanson fired a one-under par score while also recording four birdies. 85 TOP 10 FINISH FOR GLATFELTER: Sophomore Amanda Glatfelter posted a nine-over 81 at the Butler Spring Invitational. The ninth-place finish was Glatfelter's second career top-10 finish. TITANS ROWDY IN SHE CAN `DU' IT: Dupuis, who garnered Athlete of the Week honors last week, has led the Titans in five straight tournaments. Her 54-hole total of 245 included a blazing first-round score of 78. Loyola `SINNEN' IN THE RAIN: Junior Rachael Sinnen placed seventh individually at the weather-shortened Butler Sping Invitational. Her 80 led the Ramblers to a fourth-place finish. RAMBLING THROUGH THE COMPETITION: All five Ramblers who played in the Butler Spring Invitational finished in the Top 20. Dating back to the fall season, the Ramblers have now finished fourth or better as a team in each of their last five tournaments. THREE FOR THREE: Sophomore Adrianna DiLonardo has led the Penguins in all three of their meets this spring. Her three-round total of 249 at the Marshall El Diablo Intercollegiate was good for 38th place overall. PENGUINS CONSISTENT
