For the second straight year, the Horizon League Men's Tennis Newcomer of the Year honors have been claimed by Wright State, with freshman Nicolas Camilleri earning the 2006 award after posting a 4-1 record in League singles and going a perfect 4-0 at doubles. Camilleri, the Horizon League Athlete of the Week for March 29, also earned Second Team All-League recognition. Joining Camilleri on the Second Team unit are
Cleveland State sophomore Brad Groleski earned the inaugural Herb Foster Sportsmanship Award, given in honor of the late Wright State head coach, who led the Raiders from 1996-2004. Groleski worked his way up to the number three spot in the Viking lineup after suffering two wrist surgeries and missing almost a year of competition.

Moore is joined on the All-Horizon League First Team by Butler's Tayo Bailey, UIC's Callan Smith and Iris Jaklin, Wright State's Tiffani Foster and Cleveland State's Sarah Galon. Galon, the 2005 Horizon League Athlete of the Year, also earned the Herb Foster Sportsmanship Award in recognition of her conduct both on and off the court.

UIC head coach Shannon Tully was named Horizon League Women's Tennis Coach of the Year for the third time in the past four season. The fifth-year coach has guided the Flames to an overall record of 10-10 and a League mark of 7-0. UIC will be in search of its tenth consecutive Horizon League title and its eighth straight trip to the NCAA Tournament.
