Multiple Records Set at 2006 Championships
Eight Horizon League records fell at the 2006 Indoor Track & Field Championships, including one of the longest-standing League records for the sport.
UW-Milwaukee's Tenia Fisher recorded a time of 55.69 in the 400m dash on Sunday to win the Horizon League championship. Her time officially erased Notre Dame's Erica Peterson from the record book, wiping out Peterson's record of 55.75, set back in 1993. Fisher's performance was one of four record-setting feats for the Panthers, as teammate Timeka Walker set a new record in the 200m with a time of 24.81, Joy VanLaanen set a mark of 11 -1.75 in the pole vault and the 4x400 relay team crossed the line in a time of 3:52.35 to beat the time of 3:54.93 set by Youngstown State just last year.
