Fr., Mongoven took second-place in the high jump in his first collegiate meet over the weekend. He cleared 6'9.75" in the event and jumped onto Female Athlete of the Week Bethany Anderson Jr., Other Men's Top Performers for the Week Erik Hernandez Loyola So., Hernandez earned second-place in the 35-lb. weight throw at the Dick Pond Invitational with a 49'7.5" toss. Tom Grant Sr., Grant finished in second place in the long jump with a jump of 21'11.75" at the Chippewa Open over the weekend. Shayne York So., Andy Wall Fr., Wall won the triple jump at the Purdue Invitational on Saturday with a leap of 40'5.5" in his first collegiate meet. He also placed fifth in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of :08.85 and the high jump by clearing 6'1.25". Other Women's Top Performers for the Week Briana Kennett Loyola Sr., Kennett placed sixth in the 20-lb. weight throw at the Dick Pond Invitational with a 31'4" effort. Beth Zimmerman UW-Milwaukee So., Zimmerman won two events while claiming second in another while leading UWM in its season-opening meet on Saturday. She won both the triple and long jumps, leaping 37'10" in the triple, the second-best effort in school history. In the long jump, she cleared 17'6.75". Zimmerman also placed second in the 200 meters, finishing in :26.83. Nicole Gillikin Sr., Gilikin tied for a first-place finish in the pole vault by clearing 10 feet on her first attempt at the Chippewa Open. Tiffany Brigham Fr., Brigham completed her first collegiate meet with great success. Even though she placed 28th in the 60-meter dash at the Kentucky Invitational, she tied the indoor school record in the event (:07.99). Later in the meet, Brigham set the WSU indoor mark in the 200-meter with a time of :26.39 which was good for 36th place. Rowsha LaBranche Sr., LaBranche enjoyed an impressive 2007 debut, winning the 200-meter dash at the Purdue Invitational with a time of :27.41. She later took third in the 400-meter race in 1:01.39.
